Mike Rotunda Shares How The Idea Of The Bray Wyatt Documentary Came To Fruition
Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Last year, the wrestling world was saddened by the tragic and unexpected passing of Bray Wyatt. WWE has produced a documentary about Wyatt that premieres on April 1. Recently, Wyatt’s father Mike Rotunda opened up about how the Documentary came to fruition.

While speaking to Bill Apter of Sportskeeda Wrestling, Mike Rotunda mentioned that Triple H wanted to create the documentary to ensure that Wyatt’s kids would get to know who their father was.

“Well basically, I called Triple H when Windham passed away. Because I didn’t want all kinds of internet crap going out about him and stuff. So, Triple H took the reigns and let everybody know that Windham had unexpectedly passed. And then later, Triple H called and said, ‘We would like to keep… do a documentary so his kids know him when they get older.’ Because he does have four, we have four grandkids through him. So, he said, ‘I would like to keep that alive and do something that’s gonna… The kids can look back 20 years from now and see who their dad was, and what a star he was.’ So, that’s how it originated.”

Mike Rotunda also shared that the WWE family has been very supportive and has done a lot to help the Rotunda family following the unfortunate passing of Bray Wyatt. Mike Rotunda also mentioned that WWE legends such as The Rock and The Undertaker also reached out to the family and helped in any way they could.

“And WWE’s been awesome. They just have been very helpful throughout the process and with Windham passing and very generous, and… I can’t say enough about that. Along with The Rock, he was sending food here every other day. And people reaching out and Undertaker, and just so many people.”

Mike Rotunda also mentioned that the funeral was a beautiful way to celebrate the life of Bray Wyatt.

“We did his funeral here in Brooksville and a lot of WWE staff, wrestlers, wrestlers from AEW showed up. It was sadly a beautiful funeral to celebrate Windham,” Mike Rotunda said.
